Record calls (tenant toggle)
Turn recording on or off for the company when the package includes it. Consent prompt stays available.
Tenant admins do this at Admin → Company setup (/admin/company).
Package vs company
- The landlord (or the Stripe package) turns the Call recording module on or off for the company.
- If that module is off, the Record calls toggle is hidden and Octone never starts a recording.
- If the module is on, recording defaults to on. An admin can uncheck Record calls so new calls are not recorded.
Consent prompt
When recording is on, keep Play a short consent prompt checked so inbound callers hear “this call may be recorded” before recording starts. Uncheck it only if you have another lawful way to notify callers. Both choices are written to the audit log.
What the caller hears
- Call is answered.
- If recording and the consent prompt are on, the prompt plays, then the menu.
- Recording starts only when the module is on and Record calls is on.
There is no per-call override in this release.
See Call log to play recordings.
