Setup guide (in-app tour)

After you change a temporary password, Octone shows a setup guide card on your portal (Admin, Manager, or User). It is a purple glass overlay — not a lock-out. Use Next, Back, or Skip. Open this page jumps to the screen for that step.

Existing people see it once until they check the box (including company owners who already signed in).

Turn the tour off or on

• Check Don’t show this setup guide again, then Skip or Done. Octone remembers that on your account so the overlay does not auto-open next time.
• Skip without the checkbox lets you work immediately. The guide can still auto-open on a later visit.
• To see it again, open Help and click Setup guide, or add ?tour=1 to your portal URL. That restarts the overlay even if you had hidden it.

The tour does not open on Sign in, public Help, Pricing, or while a temporary password still has to be changed.

Owner / admin

1. Company setup — name, timezone, logo, Record calls. /admin/company
2. Buy a number + 911 address — search an area code, buy a DID, save the 911 address. /admin/numbers
3. Add people — create agents and managers; copy each temp password once. /admin/users
4. Extensions / desk phones or softphone — Yealink wizard or browser dialer. /admin/extensions · /admin/softphone
5. Inbound IVR + after-hours voicemail — greeting, menu keys, closed hours. /admin/playbooks
6. SMS test — send a text from a company number. /admin/sms
7. Call log + recording — confirm the test call. /admin/calls
8. Help anytime — this index. /help or /admin/help

Manager

Call log (/manager/calls), register the softphone, alerts, then Help.

Agent / user

Register the softphone, open My calls, set find-me / out of office on the user portal, then Help.

Platform operators

Create companies and set feature switches at Tenants. Company screens never name the underlying phone carrier.
